Privacy Policy

1. Overview

AreumTravel is a free travel-planning website. V1 is designed to collect as little personal data as possible: no password requirement, no ad tracking, and no persistent GPS history.

2. Data We Process

• Saved-trip email: when you save or recover a trip, we process your email address to send the one-time save or sign-in link. The Prepare checklist opens on the website after the trip is verified; V1 does not email the checklist.
• Saved-trip metadata: trip slug, locale, departure date, date range, edit count, stop changes, share state, timestamps, an encrypted delivery address, and a hashed email identifier.
• Analytics events: product events such as guide viewed, fork created, date set, email submitted, trip saved with date, checklist viewed, and partner-link clicks. Email values are scrubbed before analytics storage.
• Technical data: anonymous session ID, browser/device metadata, referrer, URL path, and server logs needed to operate and secure the service.

3. Data We Do Not Do

• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not run third-party ad profiling or behavioral ad SDKs.
• We do not store a persistent GPS trail of where you travel.
• We do not require a password to save a trip; optional sign-in providers may be offered for account access.

4. Email And Magic Links

Magic links are single-use and expire quickly. The saved-trip store keeps an encrypted copy of your email for requested delivery and recovery, plus a hashed lookup identifier and the email domain. Our email provider receives the address only to deliver messages you requested.

5. Analytics

We use first-party analytics to understand whether the public guide → saved trip → prepare checklist loop works. We may also use Google Analytics 4 if configured. We scrub email fields into non-identifying flags such as whether an email was present and the email domain.

6. Partner Links

Some checklist items may link to outside partners. We disclose partner links inline. Partners may receive normal referral and click information when you leave AreumTravel.

7. Retention

• Unsaved anonymous browser state remains on your device unless you clear it.
• Saved-trip records are retained while the saved trip is active.
• Server logs and analytics are retained only as needed for operations and product measurement.

8. Your Choices

You can ignore a magic link if you do not want to save a trip. You can clear local browser storage to remove unsaved trip state on your device. For privacy questions or deletion requests, email [email protected].

9. Changes

If our data practices materially change, we will update this policy and revise the date above.
